Seed of Life

by Elaine

The Seed of Life is a sacred geometric figure made up of seven interlocking circles arranged in a symmetrical pattern. This ancient symbol is more than just beautiful—it’s rich with spiritual and philosophical meaning.
1. Symbol of Creation
The Seed of Life represents the seven days of creation. Each circle is often associated with a day, starting with the first circle in the center and expanding outward. It mirrors the Biblical story of creation, symbolizing the unfolding of life from a single point.
2. The Blueprint of the Universe
In sacred geometry, the Seed of Life is seen as a foundational pattern—a blueprint from which all forms arise. It’s the starting point of the more complex Flower of Life, and ultimately the Tree of Life in Kabbalah.
3. Unity and Interconnectedness
The overlapping circles demonstrate how all things in the universe are interconnected. The space where circles intersect is known as a Vesica Piscis, a symbol of duality, balance, and shared creation.
4. Balance and Harmony
The symmetry of the seven circles embodies balance, harmony, and divine order. It reflects the natural rhythms and cycles of life, such as the seven chakras, seven musical notes, and seven days of the week.
5. Spiritual Awakening
Many see the Seed of Life as a portal to higher consciousness. Meditating on this pattern can promote spiritual growth, healing, and a deeper connection to the cosmos.
